RAPESEED OIL CANDLE WAX
Properties: plant-based, renewable, natural, free from mineral oils
While rapeseed is used as a cooking oil and in the production of edible fats, most of the rapeseed grown in Germany is used in the production of technical products. Winter oilseed rape cultivation totals around 1.23 million hectares, which equals approximately 3.5 million tons of rape seeds. Well over half the plant oil produced in Germany is now rapeseed oil. In its hardened form – as rapeseed wax – rapeseed oil is increasingly used in candle production. The petrochemical raw material paraffin is becoming more expensive and scarcer.
