In North America, sunflower oil has been used as early as three or four thousand years ago. In order to extract the oil, the ripe sunflower seeds are peeled, ground and then cold pressed. Hot pressing is possible for industrial use. We have added a small proportion of coconut oil to our sunflower oil candle wax to enhance processing and facilitate ideal wall adhesion, as well as optimum burning behaviour.
